Based on the English nursery rhyme “Hey Diddle Diddle,” this ring features the infamous cow jumping over the moon.
The moon is a hollow form created from sheets of sterling silver formed and soldered together into a hollow cylindrical shape. The reticulated silver face resembles the moon’s surface. A hand carved star allows the cow to “jump” across the moon. To create the cow and star, I melted down my silver scraps into nuggets and carved each into shape using jewelry saws, files, and burrs. The ring band is textured with silver dust and 18k gold chips.
This one-of-a-kind ring was a juried competitor in the 2025 “Battle of the Rings” competition hosted by Danaca Design Gallery in Seattle, WA.
